Transition from MPCNC to Plotter X-axis

One of the challenges is how to incorporate the plotter x-axis assembly into the LowRider2 design. I am re-designing the Z Assembly shown below to carry the plotter X-axis assembly.

My redesign is starting to make sense. However, I do not have any 1″ conduit. And I promised I wouldn’t go to Home Depot. I only need two pieces 3 foot long. Does anyone have any lying around? If you leave it somewhere, I could come by and pick it up.

I have the two sides printed. They fit on the X-Axis as you see below. I am concerned that the four holes where the metal X axis will attach is too weak and the plastic might break. In the next rendition I will beef them up.

I have not determined yet how close to the end I can go. The closer to the end the larger the X canvas size can be. The disk is a gauge used to drill the holes for the NEMA stepper motor. More on this in future post.
